JOB POSTING – School Age Program Director

The South Boston Neighborhood House is seeking an energetic person(s) with a genuine enthusiasm for working with children to fill the following positions in our School Age Program.   We are looking for qualified individuals to join our dedicated team of human service professionals committed to enhancing family and neighborhood life in South Boston.

 

School Age Program Director

The Director works under the supervision of the Director of Early Education and Care Programs and in collaboration with the Site Coordinator, and program staff to design, implement and evaluate a challenging, safe, and fun out-of-school-time program. The Director is responsible for the overall quality of the program.  He/she is obligated to meet and maintain standards set by regulating agencies such as the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC), Department of Education/Boston Public Schools, as well as meet and maintain standards set by the South Boston Neighborhood House and all funding sources.

The Director is responsible to supervise staff, delegate responsibilities, coordinate classroom coverage, know, and be known to all children and families.  All written communication to parents including program newsletters and updates will be overseen by the Director.

Qualifications: 

Director must be at least 18 year of age and meet the following set of requirements:

Associates Degree and currently working toward a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, Child Development, Psychology or a related field

Two education-related courses a minimum of twenty-four (24) months of at least half-time experience with school age children.

Demonstrated supervisory experience necessary

Preferred: Valid Driver’s license and willing to obtain a 7-D Driver’s license (to transport children in the SBNH Van (preferred)

Full time hours (35 hours) between 11:00 – 6:00 p.m. Mon. – Fri.

Permanent (after sixth month probationary period)
