Our Programs

Our Programs

The South Boston Neighborhood House was founded in 1901 as part of the settlement house movement to support family and neighborhood life in South Boston. We continue to keep this tradition alive in serving the needs of the South Boston neighborhood and its families.

We provide many services to residents of all ages and backgrounds in ways that strengthen the community. Our services include Preschool, School Age, Adolescent Programs, Senior Services, Family Services and Volunteer Opportunities.

Snow Policy

If Boston Public Schools are closed due for weather related reasons, SBNH will not provide transportation on that day; however, the program will be open regular hours.  If the Governor declares a State of Emergency, SBNH will close at the discretion of the Executive Director.

You may call SBNH at 617-268-1619 and dial 0 for the operator to hear an automated message regarding our decision to open or close.  You may also access this information on the SBNH web site at www.sbnh.org , our facebook page under South Boston Neighborhood House or check The BostonChannel.com web site under closings.
